At the beginning of the Fall Semester of 2021 Brendan K. joined our team as a graduate researcher. Additionally in the Fall semester of 2021 Kayla G. and Will B. are being mentored as undergraduate researchers.
Mark Wallace successfully defended and achieved his Ph.D. Spring of 2021. Titled: Development of Next Generation Living Coordinative Chain Transfer Polymerization and New Polyolefin Materials Obtained Therefrom. We wish him all the best in the next stages of his career.

This week began demolition of Wing 1 of the Chemistry Building which will be followed by construction of the new wing this fall and to be completed by 2023.
Mark and Charlotte both made oral presentations of their research during the 2021 Graduate Research Conference on Polymer Chemistry held in July.
Congratulations to Danyon for being selected for a 2021 NIST PREP graduate student fellowship. In addition to supporting Danyon's research, the fellowship provides him access to the NIST campus to engage with NIST scientists in collaborative research and to make use of state-of-art instruments for the characterization of his polymer samples.
Congratulations to Mark for being awarded a 2021 William Bailey fellowship. This award honors the memory of Prof. William Bailey - a polymer chemist who developed the first generation of biodegradable polymers and was former Chair of the department and a past President of the ACS.
